Feel that…trust Me. Am I not leading you safely, faithfully? Will you believe Me, your Master, that all this is really to bring the answer to your prayers? God Calling

Luke 6:12

Jesus went up to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God.

1 Corinthians 4:5

Therefore, do not make any judgment before the appointed time, until the Lord comes, for he will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will manifest the motives of our hearts, and then everyone will receive praise from God.

"With the same zeal, enthusiasm and fervor that I started this day, I now turn toward home. My spouse and children deserve a husband and father/wife and mother who is happy to see them, someone who is filled with energy, happiness and joy. I refuse to drag across the threshold weary, worn out and beaten down by the day's activities." Germaine Copeland

That which God commands seems difficult and a burden. The way is rough; you draw back; you have no desire to follow it. Yet do so and you will attain glory. St. Anthony Mary Zaccaria

Luke 6:12-16
Jesus went up to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God.
When day came, he called his disciples to himself, and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles:
Simon, whom he named Peter, and his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called a Zealot, and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Faith is the foretaste of the knowledge that will make us blessed in the life to come. St. Thomas Aquinas

Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith.

The greatest single cause of atheism in the world is Christians who acknowledge Christ with their lips, then walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable. Brennan Manning

James 2:14-18

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well," but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?

So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Indeed someone might say, "You have faith and I have works." Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.

"We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.Mother Theresa

Romans 1:20

Sin must not reign over our natural bodies.

A choir of amateur voices was singing, "Carry me back to old Virginny."

A lady in the audience began to weep. The person next to her said, "Are you from Virginia?"

"No," she said, "I'm a musician."

Sometimes God must feel the way the woman felt. God must weep at how we're singing the song of life, compared to how he intended for us to sing it. How might I better sing God's song of life as he intended it to be sung?

Strive for Strength

Faith will not be restored to the West because people believe it to be useful. It will return only when they find that it is true. Barbara Ward

Luke 13: 22-30

He passed through towns and villages, teaching as he went and making his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, "Lord, will only a few people be saved?" He answered them, "Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough. After the master of the house has arisen and locked the door, then will you stand outside knocking and saying, 'Lord, open the door for us.' He will say to you in reply, 'I do not know where you are from.' And you will say, 'We ate and drank in your company and you taught in our streets.' Then he will say to you, 'I do not know where (you) are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers!' And there will be wailing and grinding of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves cast out. And people will come from the east and the west and from the north and the south and will recline at table in the kingdom of God. For behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last."

STABAT MATER (A Prayer to Share Mary's Sorrows)
FriarJacoponi da Todi

At the cross her station keeping, Stood the mournful Mother weeping, Close to Jesus to the last.
Through her heart, His sorrow sharing, All His bitter anguish bearing,

Now at length the sword had pass'd.

Oh, how sad and sore distress'd Was that Mother highly blest

Of the sole-begotten One !
Christ above in torment hangs; She beneath beholds the pangs

Of her dying glorious Son.

Is there one who would not weep, Whelm'd in miseries so deep

Christ's dear Mother to behold ?
Can the human heart refrain From partaking in her pain,

In that Mother's pain untold?

Bruis'd, derided, curs'd, defil'd, She beheld her tender child

All with bloody scourges rent.
For the sins of His own nation, Saw Him hang in desolation,

Till His spirit forth He sent.

O thou Mother! fount of love! Touch my spirit from above;

Make my heart with thine accord.
Make me feel as thou hast felt; Make my soul to glow and

melt With the love of Christ our Lord.

Holy Mother! pierce me through; In my heart each wound renew

Of my Saviour crucified.
Let me share with thee His pain, Who for all my sins was slain,

Who for me in torments died.

Let me mingle tears with thee, Mourning Him who mourn'd for me,

All the days that I may live.
By the cross with thee to stay, There with thee to weep and pray,

Is all I ask of thee to give.

Virgin of all virgins best, Listen to my fond request

Let me share thy grief divine.
Let me, to my latest breath, In my body bear the death

Of that dying Son of thine.

Wounded with His every wound, Steep my soul till it hath swoon'd

In His very blood away.
Be to me, O Virgin, nigh, Lest in flames I burn and die,

In His awful Judgment day.

Christ, when Thou shalt call me hence, Be Thy Mother my defense,

Be Thy cross my victory.
While my body here decays, May my soul Thy goodness praise,

Safe in Paradise with Thee.
Amen.

Today I pray that those struggling for direction find it

Looking back, it’s difficult for me to understand how I could have maintained such a fragmented existence for so long without caving in to its incoherence and lack of central commitment. Life was a blur — I was popping from one activity to another without a moment’s hesitation to reflect and consider my overall life direction. Joseph Jaworski

2 Corinthians 7-10

And to keep me from being too elated by the abundance of revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to harass me, to keep me from being too elated. Three times I besought the Lord about this, that it should leave me; but he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

The gospel speaks eternal truths in an ever-changing world. Methods will tear or burst if we try to fit the new things that God is doing into the old. To say, "This is the way that we've done it before" becomes an old wineskin or garment fast.
Our responsibility is to see what God is doing in our generation and do the best that we can to facilitate new methods for truths that never change.
Dave Whitehead

Luke 5:36-39

He told them this parable: "No one tears a patch from a new garment and sews it on an old one. If he does, he will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, 'The old is better.' "
