May it please the supreme and divine Goodness to give us all abundant grace ever to know His most holy will and perfectly to fulfill it.

St. Ignatius of Loyola

Romans 5:1-2

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access (by faith) to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.

The lesson of the grain of wheat that dies in order to bear fruit also has a parallel in the life of Saint Andrew. Like Peter, he endured martyrdom on a cross, the diagonal cross that we venerate today as the cross of Saint Andrew. From his example we learn that the path of each single Christian, like that of the Church as a whole, leads to new life, to eternal life, through the imitation of Christ and the experience of his cross.Pope Benedict XVI

John 1:40-42

The first thing Andrew did, after learning about Jesus from John the Baptist, was to find his brother Simon (who would later be called Peter) to tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.

If it is a very good sign when a person listens willingly to the Divine Word, is it not a bad sign when a person is disgusted with it and no longer feels they need it? Saint Francis de Sales

1 Timothy 2: 1-4

"First of all, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity. This is good and pleasing to God our savior, who wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth."

Our true worth does not consist in what human beings think of us. What we really are consists in what God knows us to be. St. John Berchmans

Colossians 2:8-10

See to it that no one captivate you with an empty, seductive philosophy according to human tradition, according to the elemental powers of the world and not according to Christ.

For in him dwells the whole fullness of the deity bodily, and you share in this fullness in him, who is the head of every principality and power.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Psalm 105:1-3

Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the peoples his deeds!

Sing praise, play music; proclaim all his wondrous deeds!

Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!

God doesn't want our deeds; but only the love that prompts them.

Saint Teresa of Avila

1 Peter 2:4-5

Come to him, a living stone, rejected by human beings but chosen and precious in the sight of God, and, like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

That we partake in gathering around, saying Grace and breaking bread, we pray.
We remember now to thank our Creator for all that we are and all that we have. May our sharing with one another embody the generosity made possible for us by the Giver of the original gift.
Philip Foubert

Philippians 4:6

Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.

The goal of religion is not to necessarily get us into heaven--but to get heaven into us.

Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes; truly, I say to you, he will gird himself and have them sit at table, and he will come and serve them. If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those servants!

Lord, show us the way to accept today as a sign of your kingdom; lighten our hearts so that we may focus on you.

Luke 13:18:19

What is the kingdom of God like? To what can I compare it?

It is like a mustard seed that a person took and planted in the garden. When it was fully grown, it became a large bush and 'the birds of the sky dwelt in its branches.'"

Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing dismay you
All things pass.
God never changes.
Patience attains.

He who has God

God alone suffices.

Luke 6:36-38
Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate. Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and there will be gifts for you: a full measure, pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap; because the standard you use will be the standard used for you.’

Jesus said in reply, "Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?" No one is disgraced who waits for you, but only those who lightly break faith.

The Word Became Flesh

Jesus is the Word. In Greek, Jesus is the logos, the cause or reason for everything that exists.
Jesus existed in the beginning. Before time began, Jesus was.
Jesus was with God. Although Jesus is divine Himself, He exists in a Trinitarian relationship with God the Father.
Jesus is God. He contains all the attributes and characteristics of God the Father.
Jeremy Cagle

John 1:1-5

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.

For the LORD, the God of Israel, says, 'The jar of flour shall not go empty, nor the jug of oil run dry,
until the day when the LORD sends rain upon the earth.'"
She left and did as Elijah had said. She was able to eat for a year, and he and her son as well; the jar of flour did not go empty, nor the jug of oil run dry, as the LORD had foretold through Elijah.

That believers in the different religions, through the testimony of their lives and fraternal dialogue, may clearly demonstrate that the name of God is a bearer of peace. Pope Benedict XVI

Romans 12:17-21

Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.

If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God;for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’ No, ‘if your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them something to drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on their heads.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

As important as history and tradition is to our Church, our faith is not a museum exhibit filled with long-dead specimens, stuffed and propped up to show what the 'real thing' looks like. Our Church is and must be alive and real, and that means filled with fragile, weak and sinful humans.

Steve Givens

Matthew 6:9-13

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread;

and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;

and do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one.

Saints are persons who make it easier for the others to believe in God. Nathan Soderblum

1 John 3:1-3

See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are.
The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
Everyone who has this hope based on him makes himself pure, as he is pure.
